Intermediates Class

Developing Skills, Confidence and Stage Presence

Intermediates is our musical theatre class for students aged 11-15, designed for those who are ready to build on their experience and develop stronger technique across singing, dancing and acting.

This class supports students as they grow in confidence, focus and performance ability, offering both challenges and encouragement in a positive, inclusive environment.

  • Each class improves upon all three disciplines of musical theatre with a greater focus on technique, performance quality and collaboration.

    Students will:

    • Learn and perform more challenging musical theatre repertoire

    • Develop vocal technique, including harmony and ensemble work

    • Work on choreography that builds strength, coordination and stage awareness

    • Explore acting through script work, character development and storytelling

    • Develop performance skills such as projection, expression and confidence on stage

    Classes are structured, focused and engaging, while still allowing space for creativity and enjoyment.

    • Students aged 11-15 (Year 7 and above)

    • Children with some experience in performing arts, or who are looking to try something new or those ready for a step up

    • Students who enjoy working as part of an ensemble

    • Those looking to develop confidence, commitment and performance skills

    Many students move into this class after Beginners, while others join with experience from school or other theatre settings.

  • Intermediates students take part in our annual full scale production, gaining valuable experience performing on stage as part of a larger cast.

    As with all Theatre Foundations productions:

    • There are no additional charges for costumes, lighting or sound

    • Families are not charged for tickets

    • A video recording of the performance is included

    • Dress rehearsal photos are provided

    Performances allow students to apply their training in a supportive, professionally run show environment.

  • Intermediates classes run on Monday evenings at Ash Manor School.

    • 6.10-7.10pm
