Musical Theatre Training at Theatre Foundations

For students with previous experience in musical theatre, our classes offer the opportunity to develop skills further within a structured, supportive training environment. Each weekly session integrates singing, dancing and acting, allowing students to strengthen technique, musicality, performance quality and confidence across all three disciplines.

Students work on:

  • Musical theatre repertoire, developed into fully staged performance pieces

  • Script work, character development and storytelling

  • Choreography and movement appropriate to age and ability

  • Vocal work, including harmony and ensemble singing in older groups

Training is designed to encourage progression while maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere where students are challenged appropriately and supported throughout.

Each week may focus more heavily on one area, but across the term we ensure children spend time developing all three disciplines in a balanced and carefully considered way.

Performances

All students work towards an annual full-scale production, giving them the experience of performing in a professionally supported show environment.

  • Foundations students perform in their own age-appropriate production

  • Advanced students also have a dedicated show, tailored to their level and experience

We believe performance opportunities at Theatre Foundations should be accessible which is why:

  • There are no additional charges for costumes, lighting or sound

  • Families are not charged for tickets

  • A video recording of the performance is provided, free of charge

  • Photographs from the dress rehearsal are included

These experiences allow students to apply their training in a real performance setting while feeling supported and valued.
